The outer PA (polyamide) sheath acts as the primary waterproof barrier. Its low water absorption rate (typically below 0.4%) and dense molecular structure create an effective seal against liquid ingress, preventing water from penetrating the insulation system. The inner PE2 (modified polyethylene) layer provides secondary protection. Through material modification, its water tree resistance and hydrophobicity are significantly improved compared to standard PE, further blocking moisture diffusion. This dual-layer defense ensures stable insulation resistance even during long-term submersion, effectively preventing electrical failures caused by dampness.
This wire is designed for continuous operation at temperatures up to 90°C, with short-term overload capability reaching 105°C, suitable for the thermal conditions inside a submersible pump. The PE2 insulation offers good dielectric strength, with a typical breakdown voltage exceeding 25 kV/mm, providing a high safety margin against voltage surges during motor start-up and operation. Its volume resistivity remains high (>10¹⁴ Ω·cm) even in humid environments, minimizing leakage current and energy loss. The materials also exhibit low dielectric loss, which helps reduce heat generation within the winding during high-frequency operation.
