For temperature withstand performance, the standard system classifies enameled copper wire into clear thermal classes including Class 130 (B), Class 155 (F), Class 180 (H) and Class 220 (C). The thermal endurance test follows the IEC 60172 specification, which requires placing test specimens in a constant temperature oven for multi-stage accelerated aging, and calculates the 20000-hour continuous operating temperature through the Arrhenius curve to confirm the long-term thermal stability of the enamel insulation. For breakdown voltage testing, the standard specifies that the test shall be carried out in a cylindrical electrode environment at 23°C ± 2°C, and the minimum breakdown voltage value of Grade 1 and Grade 2 enamel films must meet the corresponding thresholds according to different wire diameters, to ensure the electrical insulation reliability under operating voltage surges. Other key parameters including pinhole continuity, cut-through resistance and solderability also have corresponding standardized test methods, covering electrical, mechanical and chemical performance dimensions.
